Aslukwoodhavit

Aslukwoodhavit was impressive in winning the two-mile beginners’ chase at Punchestown on Thursday. His jumping was very good for a debutant. He was fast and accurate and effortless throughout, and he made ground on his rivals at most of his obstacles. Willywampus set a fast pace, he went into a clear lead, as is his wont, but Rachael Blackmore just allowed Aslukwoodhavit reel him in easily. He went on at the top of the home straight and it looked like he won with lots in hand.

This was Aslukwoohavit’s first chase, he didn’t run in a point-to-point and, after four runs in bumpers, he ran just three times over hurdles, winning once. He has lots of potential now for progression over fences. He has a rating of 123 over hurdles but, on this evidence, he could go a fair way higher over fences. He would be of interest in a rated novice chase now before stepping up in grade.
