Nyaleti
Nyaleti ran a nice race to finish second to Worth Waiting in the Group 2 Dahlia Stakes over 9f. Weak enough in the market beforehand on this, her seasonal debut, she was sent to the front from flagfall by Joe Fanning. She dictated just an even tempo and she was headed by Worth Waiting at the 3f marker, but she stuck to her task well. She had to switch to her right when the winner came over across her 1f out and, when she did, she stayed on really well to get to within 1l of the winner, in front of Billesdon Brook and Veracious.
Mark Johnston's filly stayed the 9f trip well, and she could get further. It is interesting that she ran one of the best races of her life on her final run last season, when she was beaten a neck in the Group 1 Premio Lydia Tesio by God Given over 10 furlongs. She should come on for this run, and she has the potential to progress now over 9f and 10f. She could be an interesting contender for the Duke of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot if she goes there. She has run at Ascot just twice, both times as a juvenile. She finished second to September in the Chesham Stakes at the Royal meeting in June 2017, when she had the 2018 Derby winner Masar behind her in third, and she won the Group 3 Princess Margaret Stakes there the following month by five lengths. She will be of interest wherever she goes next, and she will be of particular interest if and when she goes back to Ascot.
