Myplacelater

Mentioned here before after a promising run in the Cheshire Oaks, Myplacelater has gone from strength to strength this year, her latest win coming in the Listed Godolphin Stakes at Newmarket on Friday. She travelled notably well through the race and quickened up much better than any of her rivals to power clear by a widening six lengths from Dreamspeed and the well-backed Wajir. While the others may all have been a little disappointing and the form may not amount to much, the manner of Myplacelater’s victory and the attitude that she showed impressed, and she continues to progress. She didn’t start her racing career until February this year, she has now won five of her 11 starts, and this latest run confirms that she stays 12 furlongs and acts on deep ground. Her two disappointing runs have come on quickish ground so she is probably at her best when there is cut in the ground, which is not surprising given her knee action, and she was all at sea around the undulations of Goodwood. Bearing that in mind, and the form that she is in, she would be interesting if David Elsworth allows her to take her chance in the Pride Stakes at Newmarket on Champion Stakes day if the ground comes up soft.
