Horses To Follow » Excellent Result
Put up a nice performance to win his maiden hurdle on his hurdling bow. While he was niggled along on the run around the home turn, he moved up nicely for Noel Fehily at the second last flight, and he took up the running between the last two. He did give fellow debutant Blue Surf a chance when he lost his hind legs at the back of the final flight, but he picked up well again on the run in to win nicely.
Richard Spencer’s horse was strong in the market before this, as was Blue Surf, who was a good performer on the flat, he was rated 102 at his peak, and the front two pulled well clear. Excellent Result was even better than Blue Surf on the flat, he won a Group 2 race over 12 furlongs in Dubai in 2014 and he achieved a high-rating of 115. He is an exciting recruit to hurdles. This was just his second run for Richard Spencer, it was just his second run since September 2015, so he should improve again.
