I think that I Am Maximus should be favourite for the Bobbyjo Chase, in front of Vanillier.

Vanillier is fashionable now, he has been well touted for the Grand National, for which he is now clear favourite, given a mark just 4lb higher than last year’s mark, and he is receiving 12lb from I Am Maximus today.  But he goes into the race on the back of a fairly abject performance in the Leopardstown Chase.  He should obviously do much better today, but he is short.

I Am Maximus has to bounce back too from an ordinary run, but that was in the Irish Gold Cup, behind Galopin Des Champs and Fastorslow.  More than that, he is back at Fairyhouse, where he has won an Irish Grand National and a Drinmore Chase.  He goes to his left, but he seems to love Fairyhouse, and he could be up to the task of giving the weight away to Vanillier and Minella Crooner today.
